It’s been amazing learning a new language. I keep finding coincidences, if you should call them such, between Spanish, English, and Swedish.
This weekend, Michael grabbed his stomach and yelled to me, “mata me!” Yikes! The first thing I thought was, “why is he asking me to kill him?” Mata me, in Spanish, means “kill me”. [...]

Here’s my second installment of words I find to be interesting…see if you like them as well!
Snuskig: dirty. The word just sounds filthy. Easy to remember.
Groda: frog. I kinda think that frogs are “grody,” which makes this word perfect.
Ljus: light. Close to the Spanish word for light, which is luz. Yea for me!

Attempting is the only word I can use for learning Swedish. It’s difficult.
I’ve been trying to learn bits and pieces for a few months now, so I have a decent vocabulary. I could most likely have a wonderful fragmented conversation with a year-and-a-half old native speaker.
So I’ve got words, but I can’t seem to string them [...]
